D.C. local Ginny Simmons presents Sip & Paint: A Manifesto in the Year 2023, a comedic solo show on questionable cultural trends, art, and the meaning of it all, written and directed by Ginny Simmons, as part of the Capital Fringe 2023, July 15- 23, 2023, at the Rind Theater Venue at 1025 Thomas Jefferson St. NW.
With a comedic approach, Ginny examines the sip and paint trend and other cultural behaviors we may want to leave in the past. Taking us on a joyful spree through studies, puzzles, and great thinkers, she searches for meaning amongst the absurdity of day-to-day life.
"We've all had a tough three plus years," says writer and performer Ginny Simmons. "This show will be filled with humor and low-grade controversy. I'll be exploring aspects of our culture we may want to reconsider, pondering what is art, and following it through with what's really on my mind: lighthearted existential angst on the meaning of it all."
Ginny grew up in Durhman, New Hampshire, graduated from Georgetown University, and is the founder and CEO of Aglet Strategies, a communications and strategy consulting firm with a founding focus on advancing civil and human rights. Her adhoc pet-sitting service is strictly free and only available when she feels like it. In her free time, she draws abstract doodles, takes pensive walks, and considers whether she should be more consistent about her other hobbies.
